Firekeeper Named Golfweek’s Best

 MAYETTA:  Firekeeper Golf Course was named the Best Golf Course to play in Kansas in this week’s issue of GolfWeek magazine. 

The other top five selected were: 2. Colbert Hills (Manhattan); 3.Sand Creek Station (Newton); 4. Buffalo Dunes (Garden City), and 5. Prairie Highlands (Olathe). The selection is based on a state-by-state basis and varies based on course supply, population, level of play, daily-fee layouts and course accessibility by resort.

In 2011, the year that Firekeeper opened, GolfWeek magazine voted the course the ninth best in the nation.  Additionally, Firekeeper has also received rankings and mentions from Golf Magazine and Golf Digest.  In the region, it was voted second in the Best of Topeka golf course category this year.
